Welcome to USS Accord NCC-1842

To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

About USS Accord

Accord is approaching its tenth birthday as an organization... and is about six years old in its current incarnation. Here are some of the milestones along the way.

8909.15

Lt. Cmdr. Michael Shappe, Chief Engineer, founds the internal shuttlecraft Odyssey aboard USS Avenger. He picks Lt. Cmdr. Mark H. Anbinder, Chief of Communications, as his assistant. Internal shuttlecraft are geographic groups of members aboard USS Avenger. In this case shuttlecraft Odyssey is based in Ithaca, NY.

9007.15

Internal shuttlecraft are changed to Duty Shifts at the urging of Starfleet, who is concerned that there would be confusion between USS Avenger's internal shuttlecrafts and Starfleet's provisional chapters.

9106.23

Commander Michael Shappe steps down as Delta Shift Commander in preparation for his graduation from Cornell University Lt. Cmdr. Scott French succeeds Shappe as Shift Commander.

9205.17

Lt. Cmdr. Scott French graduates from Cornell University and appoints Lt. Cmdr. Mark H. Anbinder as Duty Shift Commander. Anbinder appoints Shappe as his assistant. Plans are immediately made to launch Shuttlecraft Accord.

9206.23

The crew of Delta Shift is officially launched as Shuttlecraft Accord! Mark H. Anbinder is promoted to Commander.

9301.01

Shuttlecraft Accord's command structure shifts from a Steering Committee to a starship's Divisional Structure.

9303.15

Shuttlecraft Accord's Sciences Divsion gets a computer upgrade during the Blizzard of '93. Record keeping for the club officially transfers to Sciences.

9310.16

Shuttlecraft Accord is commissioned USS Accord in a wonderful ceremony and hike at Watkins Glen.

9408.13

During a picnic at Cindy's Park, Lt. Joyce Roberts is made ship's Medical Officer.

9410.15

The second annual Watkins Glen Commissioning Hike takes place. The first two Accord Adventures, "Aurelian's Children," and "Last Chance" are published.

9412.10

Lt. Casey O'Donovan officially promoted to Security Chief.

9503.11

After the longest period of debate in the club's history, USS Accord regretfully leaves Starfleet and becomes independent. A new department under Sciences is created; Recreations, and Lt. Joseph Prisco is assigned to lead it.

9510.14

USS Accord hosts the largest Watkins Glen Weekend in its history with over 80 people from all over the country participating! USS Avenger, USS New Horizons, and USS Thaguard are among the ships that help USS Accord celebrate its third anniversary as a commissioned ship. The latest in the Accord Adventures, "Lateral Drift" is published, and the newest Accord T-shirt sees the light of day.

9511.11

USS Accord's founder and Executive Officer, Commander Michael Scott Shappe, resigns to pursue a lucrative civilian opportunity in the wilds of the United States midwest. LtCmdr Richard C.S. "Doc" Kinne is named to replace him. Thus begins what proves to be a revolution in USS Accord's command structure.

9511.18

The first Accord Command Staff Revolution occurs. Commander Richard C.S. Kinne is named Executive Officer. LtCmdr Joseph Prisco is named Chief Science Officer. LtCmdr Casey O'Donnovan is named Chief Communication's Officer. Finally, Lt JC Cohen is named Head of Security.

9601.10

In a move that surpised everyone involved, USS Accord's Science computers are migrated to the Windows '95 Operating System by LtCmdr Joe Prisco.

9601.22

LtCmdr Gerry Valentine is accepted to the Art Institute of Chicago and resigns as Chief Engineer with all of our best wishes for his future. Daniel Quaroni is promoted to Lieutenant Commander and is made Chief Engineer of USS Accord

9606.08

In a move of little surprise, LtCmdr Ian Smith resigns as Chief Operations Officer to go pursue a career in theater in New York City. While our frenetic former Operations Chief goes off to "the city that never sleeps" we hope that he will find time for it and look forward to seeing his name in lights sometime in the near future.

In Smith's place, his longtime Security Officer, JC Cohen, is promoted to Lieutenant Commander and made Chief Operations Officer.

9609.03

Due to personal reasons LtCmdr Daniel Casey O'Donnovan tenders his resignation as Chief Communications Officer leaving vacant an important post. We wish him well in his future plans and expect to see him at meetings in the future.

9609.15

In a move surprising even him, LtCmdr Quaroni is not accepted to Cornell University and must go out of state to pursue his college plans. While he has every intention of returning soon to Ithaca, the position of Chief Engineer must be filled. In an historic move Nathaniel Burbank is made Acting Chief Engineer and is promoted to Lieutenant to do the job in DQ's place.

9610.19

The eighth annual Watkins Glen Weekend is held...at the Corning Glassworks. Rain caused us to implement our backup plan for the first time in the organization's history. Some ships actually tried to do the Glen, but were stopped by security. The Corning Glassworks proved to be a good alternative and we are all hoping that we are now in for another seven years of good weather.

9611.22

USS Accord co-hosts the premeire of Star Trek: First Contact with the Hoyts Theaters in Pyramid Mall thus introducing the film to Ithaca.

9701.08

In a move that proves the power of the people aboard USS Accord, the Ithaca Common Council votes to appoint Commander Richard C.S. "Doc" Kinne as Systems Manager and Network Adminstrator for the City of Ithaca. Terrified to his very core Doc takes the post, but vows not to accept congratulations until October when the parties at Watkins Glen will mean even more.

9702.12

Marie Beshures is promoted to Lieutenant Commander to head up USS Accord's Communications Division. The Division is put on the first firm footing its had since Major Getty left.

9706.14

In an emotion-filled meeting USS Accord, realizing the good work that has been done to put Starfleet back on track, votes to rejoin the Fleet after an absence of two years.

9707.12

In front of the whole of Region 7 and Fleet Admiral Mike Smith himself, Nathaniel Burbank is promoted to Lieutenant Commander and given the full position of Chief Engineering Officer of USS Accord. After having spent several months as Acting Chief Engineer we expect great things out of our youngest Command Staff Member as he puts the Division on firm footing once again.

9708.23

USS Accord attends the Starfleet International Conference in Cherry Hill, NJ and is officially welcomed back into the Fleet by FAdm Mike Smith and Commodore Tom Monighan of Starfleet Operations.

9710.04

Celebrating its fourth anniversary as a starship, Accord officially inaugurates its own Marine Strike Group, the 771st, under Marine Captain Alexander Schwartz. The Fourth Commissioning Anniversary, and the Eighth Annual Watkins Glen Hike is full of more import as we again set a group record at Bill Bob Jacks and Commander Mike Shappe, the man who had championed USS Accord's leaving the Fleet two years ago, officially rejoins Starfleet to the cheers of all present.

9802.14

JC Cohen is promoted to Commander at the request of Starfleet Operations for his good work for that Fleet Department. Meanwhile Richard "Doc" Kinne resigns his Naval commission and activates his Marine commission. Upon this activation he is appointed to the post of Seventh Brigade Adjutant, SFMC, and given the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He retains his position of Executive Officer to USS Accord.

The future continues to invite us forward...
