10 September 2005 Roundtable
The Question: What are you doing for Halloween?
Kelly Lindsay: Won't say Watkins Glen Weekend because J.C. said not to! Started classes, which have started to kill her. Doesn't know what she's doing for Halloween. Will probably eat candy, and celebrate the Day of the Dead.
Matthew Erickson: All he seems to do is work! Nothing really interesting, and has no idea what he's doing for Halloween. Maybe take his four-month-old son out.
Peter Green: Doesn't remember anything interesting since last meeting. Got a Darth Vader costume over the summer for Halloween.
Sandra Kisner: An ongoing process of trying to get her house into a condition to allow her parents to stay with her when they come visit. It probably doesn't come anywhere close to their image of what a house should look like. Only got four books at the Book Sale. So far. Will probably be in rehearsal on Halloween.
Betty Sovocool: Doesn't have much to say today.
Mike Sovocool: Went to Watkins Glen and saw some old friends and made a couple of new ones. Had a real good time and a wonderful meal. No Halloween plans.
MHA: Mental image of Alan typing with his knees. Saw "Serenity" and Wallace & Gromit in "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit." May have the opportunity to host trick or treaters at his house for the first time.
Alan Rose: His knees are unhappy, because he just spent three hours standing and doing credit card transactions at the Friends of the Library Book Sale, and then when he was leaving, realized there was a stool he could have sat on. Probably won't do anything for Halloween. He's had a grand total of zero trick-or-treaters in two years.
Doc Kinne: Nothing has happened to him since last meeting, except that the mortgage process is inching forward. Might be on pager for Halloween. It's not as bad as it sounds, because it's secondary pager. He's going to be in Boston, staying with Red Sox fans, during October! "Serenity."
Arc: Since his last meeting, Free Software Day has happened, and that's the big stuff. Probably staying off the streets for Halloween.
Dave Botsch: No idea what they're doing for Halloween, but might be celebrating the Day of the Dead, according to the lady of the household. Last night, checked out The Galley, the new seafood restaurant run by the Atlantic Harvest Seafood Company. It's nothing fancy, but you can get boiled or fried seafood. There are coupons in the recent Clipper magazines. Dinners run $10-11.
John A. Cohen: Watkins Glen was great! Thanks to all for helping out. Saw "Serenity." His cat got fixed. He's fine... but he's not amused. Julius also has a polyp in his ear that needs to be dealt with. Worked the Book Sale this morning, and bought a lot of books. Bought $300-400 worth of books for $120.
